Manic Monday: Cleaning Schedule

The

Happy Monday! The weekends sure fly by all too fast. This weekend was one of the first weekends in a long time when I didn’t have any plans. I had big plans of not doing much besides cuddling with Pip and watching Netflix. On Saturday, I was off to a good start. I watched TV until about 10:30am and then my Saturday morning habit of ‘picking up’ a little bit kicked in. And once I started going, I couldn’tΒ seem to stop. I ended up spending a lot of the day cleaning, because there seemed to be no end to the cleaning that needed to be done.

After successfully cleaning our house on Saturday, I decided to make a weekly cleaning schedule so I, hopefully, don’t have to spend too many Saturdays cleaning the house all day. Luckily I had Sunday to relax all day! I also managed a snowy hike with Pip at Stewart Lake and breakfast with Max at our favorite breakfast spot in Mount Horeb, Fink’s!Β I hope your weekend was fun and relaxing, and that the rest of your week is filled with happiness!

  1. As I get older …. (Hmmmm) I clean whenever I see something needs it … And I don’t look real hard lately! When I was younger with family home , I tried to keep up all week so we were ready to do weekend fun when Joe was off work..but when he worked shift work.. That’s another story… And I was a stay at home mom! Ask your Mother – in- law how to clean a sink… Sent from my iPad

    • I definitely overlook some things! After vacuuming and cleaning, I noticed a dust pile I missed under the TV Stand…it’s still there. πŸ™‚ I will ask her how to clean a sink! Thanks for reading Grandma Evie! xoxo

  2. I try to live by a weekly cleaning schedule. But I find that I am most successful if I just do a little bit each day, and maybe add one big task. Doing it that way keeps me from feeling overwhelmed. It may not be a perfect method, but it works well enough.

  3. Cleaning schedule sounds great. I’ve never really had a particular schedule because I clean as I go. So I found your post quite interesting and a different outlook!

  4. My issue with this type of schedule is that I need to sweep everyday and mop like every three days because we have 3 dogs and just a lot of foot traffic…I wipe down the kitchen everyday because I can’t stand for it to be gross but everything else I do once a week…any recommendations???

    • I should have put a disclaimer that my schedule doesn’t include daily cleaning routines..such as that! I understand the dog messes and foot traffic! Do you use a Swiffer wet mop? It’s a lifesaver for me!

  5. I like this schedule. It seems doable, and you can really break things down into smaller, more manageable sections so the cleaning doesn’t seem too overwhelming.

  6. I love the schedule! Hey you’ve got a lot more motivation than me! If I had my way I’d keep netflixing till noon instead of getting up to clean. Lol!

  7. I really need to get into a good schedule for cleaning, but it seems like whenever I find one, my kids mess it up πŸ™‚ See, I only want to wash the floors twice a week, but my kids feel the need to always get food on the floor…and don’t get me started on their toys…oh goodness! My goal is to keep clean clothes and dishes going πŸ™‚

  8. I love your schedule! I find that is is easier to get a bit done each day – rather than spending all day Saturday trying to get it all done. Good luck!

  9. We recently had a weekend when we didn’t have to do anything. It was magical at first, but then we all got bored. Kids got every single toy out by the end of Saturday and we spent most of Sunday cleaning it all up. I would have rather we had other plans…

  10. Thanks for the schedule! I typically clean during one morning each week, but with a little one on the way, I know I’m going to have to split the tasks up throughout the week!
