The Knot: I made an account at theknot.com shortly after Max and I were engaged. The Knot also produces a Wedding Planning Binder. The Knot puts so many resources right at your fingertips! A checklist telling you when you should be doing what, a budgeter that calculates how much you should be spending based on your overall budget, a free personalized wedding website where your guests can access information regarding the big day and so much more! Local vendors and tons of pictures and ideas! The planning binder has been so helpful when working with potential vendors. I would be lost without The Knot!
Wedding Paper Divas: Wedding Paper Divas is a part of the Shutterfly Brand. WPD will send you a Free Sample Kit with 5 sample invites, colors and paper swatches. I wanted to see my favorite invites in person so I waited until they had a promo for 10 free invites and then picked out my 10 favorites. It’s really nice to have an invite in your hands before ordering 200 of them. Plus having one on hand while you are planning is very helpful to stay on track with your style and theme!
Sweet Carolina Collective: Signage and decor galore! No matter what your needs are, Sweet NC Collective will help customize signage to suit your event perfectly. Wedding signage can add so much and it’s nice to have a variety of items to choose from plus super awesome people to work with! Visit their website, Etsy Shop, or Instagram and fall in love and get inspired! Sweet Carolina Collective did the signs for our Save The Date photos and we can’t wait to work with them for our wedding!
Marriage Classes: We were dreading having to take these classes. They were long and boring and not what we wanted to be doing on our week nights. But they were very worth it and extremely valuable. You would think after four years we would have talked about just about everything possible but we found out that was not true. These classes forced us to talk about uncomfortable topics that we probably wouldn’t have talked about otherwise and I feel SO much better for it. Plus, we had to practice our exchange of consent and it was a magical experience. There will be an audience next time we do that, so to practice only to each other was really special.
Wedding planning is stressful, but it’s also a really special time that we’ll never get to experience again. So even when the worst of stress sets in, I’m trying to soak it up and enjoy every second of it. These resources have contributed to making that possible. Not to mention awesome vendors who make planning fun and easy! (I’m looking at you Kelsey Jo Photography!) I’ll cover vendors later but Kelsey deserves a very special shout out. She did our Engagement Photos back in February and we fell in love with the photos and Kelsey. She loves adventures, the outdoors, coffee and dogs so she is just our kind of person! Our wedding contract came packaged with tips, chocolate and relaxation products from Simple Bath and Body! We can’t wait for Kelsey to capture our wedding!
