It’s been about 10 months since my last blog post—YIKES! Ironically 10 months is how long I’ve been working at my, then new, job! I’m back to the grind here at good old Shake Rag. I like to blame my lack of a presence here on Crafting and Cupcakery due to the overwhelming amount of great things that happened to me in 2014. Below I’ll share some of those fun things. So it hasn’t been all crafts and cupcakes over here, but I hope to get back at it someday, but for now, I’m just soaking up life as it happens!

Good bye, Menasha! Hello Mount Horeb!

Good bye, Menasha! Hello Mount Horeb!

Maxwell and I left our stomping grounds of Menasha, WI and moved to Mount Horeb, WI. We both started new jobs that we both love. Our new home and town has turned out to be so amazing for us. Yes, we yearn for things like Manderfield’s bakery and Lake Winnebago, Max of course is missing the abundance of lakes. And I’m missing working with animals everyday. But there is so much GOOD for us here. We managed to find a few fishing spots, a few favorite restaraunts, a good drive-thru coffee joint, you know, the essentials. Pip doesn’t have quite as much freedom here as we down-sized our living quarters, but he manages with daily walks. Plus, he gets to visit his grandparents frequently, and they have lots of room for him to run around.

Our jobs keep us both very busy, but when you’re doing work you love, busy is good. We’re much closer to a lot of our friends, but really miss the ones that are now further away. We stay busy literally all of the time but I suppose that’s how life is when you’re young. Whenever we get the chance, we like to take off on an early morning hike in some of the great county and state parks around the area. This snowy weather has us dreaming of camping up north in the summer months!

Perhaps the most exciting event that occured for us in 2014 was our ENGAGEMENT. On December 5th, 2014, Max took me to a palce that is very special to us, got down on one knee, and asked me to MARRY HIM. Pip was there of course. And, of course I said yes! So as if we weren’t already busy enough, we are now planning a wedding as well! A wedding that will be coming up in 10 short months! Besides our own engagment, our nearest and dearest friends are also recently engaged. So shortly after our own wedding, we will be helping them celebrate theirs.

As you can tell, life is definitely busy but it feels good to be posting something on the blog again. I’ll try my best to keep you updated on the crafting and cupcakery adventures of wedding planning! You know I’ll be DIYing many of our wedding day projects–and of course–leaving much to the professionals. That’s all for now. Thank you, Alyssa, for inspiring me to re-visit this dear old blog of mine. 🙂
