Cinnamon Sugar Donut Hole Cupcakes

Happy first day of Autumn! I’m OFFICIALLY not crazy for ranting and raving about the approaching season. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! In light of this beautiful day I spent some time in the kitchen concocting the perfect easy donut hole cupcakes!


1 box yellow cake mix & ingredients on box

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon


1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a mini muffin pan very thoroughly.

2) Mix the 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon together in a small bowl. Set aside.

3) In a large mixing bowl, prepare your cake mix as directed on the box. Then add 1 tablespoon cinnamon and stir until the cinnamon is combined with the batter.

4) Pour your cake batter into the mini muffin pan, filling each muffin slot a little over 1/2 way full.

wpid-20130922_141242.jpg5) Cook for 10 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out dry.

6) Let cool for 5 minutes.

7) Dip each mini cupcake/donut hole into the sugar and cinnamon earlier combined.


8) Place finished cinnamon sugar donut hole cupcakes into an airtight container and store for up to a week!


I’ll be enjoying my first night of Autumn drinking Hallowine and watching the original Halloween movie! I’ve watched this movie with my Mom as long as I can remember, even as a kid! She raised a horror movie junkie, for sure! I hope you have a pleasant and beautiful first day of Autumn!
